Born and raised in Payson, Utah, Charlyn is a dedicated student intern currently gaining clinical experience. She approaches counseling from a person-centered and existential perspective, valuing authenticity, connection, and meaning in the therapeutic process. A lifelong learner and avid reader, she finds joy in continually expanding her understanding of human behavior and emotional wellness. Outside of work, Charlyn loves spending time outdoors and with her four children and three grandchildren, who keep life full and meaningful.
Education and Work Experience:
Charlyn earned a bachelor’s degree in Family Science from Utah Valley University. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Capella University, where she is gaining practical experience as a student intern. Her clinical approach is rooted in person-centered and existential theories, emphasizing empathy, authenticity, and the search for meaning. Passionate about lifelong learning, she has a strong interest in trauma-informed care and human development. Her counseling work is also enriched by her life experience as a parent of four and grandparent of three.
