CMHC Student

Background:

I grew up enjoying the best of both worlds in St. George and Southern California, where I developed an early love for being outside- whether hiking in Zion National Park or playing at the beach. After working in finance for a few years, I devoted fifteen years to homeschooling my six children and actively serving our homeschool co-op community. My life experiences, combined with my love for reading great literature, practicing yoga, exploring international cultures, and traveling, deeply shape the warm and human perspective I bring to therapy.

Education and Work Experience:

I originally graduated from the BYU Marriott School of Management and spent a few years working in the finance sector before dedicating my time to raising and homeschooling my family. As my youngest child entered preschool, I returned to formal education to earn my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, combining my professional background with advanced psychological training to support my clients.

Therapy Approach:

I firmly believe that every person carries the inner power to grow, heal, and overcome life's greatest challenges, and that we sometimes just need a safe space to discover what is already within us. My practice centers on creating a supportive and compassionate environment grounded in empathy, trust, and authentic connection, tailored to honor your unique lived experiences and individual goals.

I take a person-centered and strengths-based approach, focusing on your innate capabilities and walking alongside you to help you uncover clarity, strength, and self-compassion. To help you heal on a deeper level, I integrate specialized modalities like Polyvagal Theory to understand and regulate the nervous system, trauma-informed yoga to reconnect the mind and body, and sand tray therapy to give voice to experiences that words alone cannot always capture. I also utilize proven, thoughtful evidence-based interventions customized to fit your specific needs and pace.

Throughout our work together, I strictly adhere to the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics, honoring your autonomy, protecting your confidentiality, and building our relationship on mutual respect. Whether you are navigating major life transitions, seeking personal growth, or working through emotional challenges, my goal is to be the safe place where your transformation begins.
