Ethan Martel,
MFT Student
Background:
Ethan was born and raised on a small farm in Utah Valley. At the age of five, he was placed in Violin and Piano lessons and still plays to this day. Since then, he has learned Viola, Guitar, Bass Guitar, and basic Drums. Passionate in music, he produces his own music on the side. Ethan learned the value of hard work from living on a farm and the importance of understanding emotion by embracing music. He studied at Southern Utah University and is now an MFT student at Capella University.
Education and Work Experience:
Ethan earned his Bachelor's in behavioral science with a minor in Family Studies. He then worked in residential treatment for three years, primarily working with adolescent females and their fathers. Finding love for the work he decided it was time for the next step and return to school for his master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Therapy Approach:
Ethan is passionate about being authentic and meeting people where they are at. Creating an environment for people to be authentic and open is important to him. Connecting with clients is one of his top priorities. Ethan balances a sense of humor with a serious nature to create an environment for processing the difficulties of life. He sees himself as a simple guide helping people find their answers within. His aim is to help clients realize their full potential and make positive changes to a more fulfilling life. He has a way of helping people see they are necessary to life. Ethan primarily uses Solution-Focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
