Jessica Oxburrow,
MSW Student
Background:
Jessica grew up in the small town of Morgan, Utah where she learned to love the outdoors. She moved to Utah County for school where she met her husband. They have lived in Spanish Fork for the past 5 years with their two young children and have grown to love the area and community. Jessica enjoys going to parks with her kids, spending time with her family and friends, and reading or listening to podcasts in her free time. She is always excited to meet new people, try new foods, and have new experiences.
Education and Work Experience:
Jessica graduated from Utah Valley University with a bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences, a minor in Psychology, and an emphasis in Family Studies. She has had the opportunity to work in many different fields of mental health, including family education, substance abuse, teenagers, and autism services. Most recently Jessica has worked for the State of Utah as a Caseworker for DCFS and then as a licensor for mental health facilities. She is currently working on her Master’s of Social Work from UVU.
Therapy Approach:
Jessica believes in taking a holistic approach with her clients to help them recognize and utilize the strengths and resources that they already have. She believes that genuine empathy, safety, and trust in a relationship is the best way to help people to grow through therapy. She is passionate about meeting new people and hearing their stories. She has a genuine belief that people can change and heal, no matter the circumstance, and feels lucky to be a part of that journey.
