Jocelyn Walker,
MFT Student
Background:
Jocelyn grew up in Utah County as the eldest of four sisters, spending her childhood on a small farm where she learned the value of work. These early experiences shaped her appreciation for connection, perseverance, and simple joys. She and her husband raised their family of four girls and one boy, and they are now blessed with the addition of their adult children’s spouses and wonderful grandchildren. Jocelyn enjoys reading, watercolor painting, and spending time in nature - especially in the mountains. Her hobbies include baking, collecting new recipes, and gardening. Her greatest joy comes from spending time with her husband, family, and friends.
Education and Work Experience:
Jocelyn earned her bachelor’s degree in Marriage and Family Studies from Brigham Young University-Idaho and is currently completing her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Indiana Wesleyan University. She has experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings and with older adults navigating dementia. These roles have strengthened her empathy and deepened her understanding of challenges faced across the lifespan.
Therapy Approach:
Jocelyn works with individuals, couples, and families to strengthen relationships, navigate life’s challenges, and foster personal growth. She values the role of secure attachment in emotional well-being and often draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy and family systems techniques in building healthy and supportive connections. Her goal is to create a compassionate, safe space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood. Drawing on evidence-based methods, she recognizes each client’s strengths and honors a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Jocelyn believes that your journey matters and that together, we can create space for hope, healing, and new possibilities.
