Kaitlyn Allen,
MSWI

Background:

Kaitlyn grew up here in Nephi where she had the opportunity to be a part of this great community and create many lasting friendships. She is now a Mom of 5 and has recently found that parenting teenagers and a baby at the same time is not for the faint of heart. At a time in her life when she felt like everything was falling apart Kaitlyn found her passion for mental health and loved the way it improved her relationships and helped her gain confidence in herself. Kaitlyn considers herself a recovering perfectionist and loves getting to know people as their most authentic selves. When she’s not working or wrangling a dozen after school projects, you can most likely find Kaitlyn skiing with her kids, at a sound bath, playing a sport, or capturing real time emotion with her camera. Kaitlyn is a proud owner of a Juab County Fair winners buckle, and is so grateful for the opportunity to serve this amazing community.

Education and Work Experience:

Kaitlyn attended Utah State University from 2008 to 2011 where she earned her bachelor's degree in Communication Studies. After Graduation she spent the next 12 years as a stay at home Mom. During this time Kaitlyn volunteered for various organizations such as Primary Children’s Festival of Trees, the Ronald McDonald House Foundation, and worked on staff at a yearly women's retreat called "Radiant Dawn" that helps women process trauma and heal through adventure and experiential therapy. During this time Kaitlyn also did her own work, focusing on her own mental health and individual healing. In 2023 she decided to go back to school to pursue her passion for mental health and is currently in Utah State University's Master of Social Work Program. Kaitlyn completed her first year internship at an elementary school in Provo School District where she served Elementary aged kids through individual and group therapeutic interventions. Kaitlyn plans to graduate in the spring of 2026 and hopes to continue to serve her clients here in rural Utah.

Therapy Approach:

Kaitlyn’s therapeutic approach is rooted in attachment theory, with the belief that true change happens when we begin to heal our attachment wounds. She places strong value on the power of relationships and views vulnerability as an essential part of the healing process, creating space for clients to be seen and known in their deepest fears. Kaitlyn also believes that growth often comes through struggle and discomfort, and she encourages clients to lean into these moments as opportunities for transformation. Emotions hold an important place in her work, and she strives to create a safe, compassionate environment where clients feel deeply heard and supported. Kaitlyn incorporates concepts from Narrative Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy, helping clients re-author their stories while fostering emotional awareness and connection.
