Background:
Kayla was raised in a small town in Utah. At the age of 15 her family moved and she has been experiencing the world since. After being associated with the military and living throughout Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Germany, Australia, Florida, Hawaii, and Washington State, she has returned to Utah to raise her daughter. Kayla loves traveling, new adventures, animals (especially dogs), being outdoors, and spending time with loved ones.
Education and Work Experience:
Kayla has spent the last 7 years working with and advocating for low income seniors, families, and singles. As a divorced single mother, working full time, she earned her Associate of Science in Psychology May 2019, her Bachelor of Science in Psychology specializing in Clinical Counseling May of 2022, and is now working towards her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Colorado Christian University.
Therapy Approach:
Kayla believes that providing a non-judgmental safe place for clients to be their authentic selves is the cornerstone of an effective therapeutic relationship. Having firsthand experiences with brokenness, Kayla is able to see through past circumstances and choices to the person within who is deserving of love, compassion, forgiveness, and understanding. Kayla is a believer in a Holistic approach to Person-Centered therapy drawing from many therapeutic approaches such as Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
