Kinsey Barlow Wilson,
CSW

Background:

Kinsey is originally from Layton, Utah, and now resides in Cache Valley with her husband. She loves spending time outdoors and traveling to new places to experience and learn from different cultures. In her free time, she enjoys learning new things,, reading, listening to music, and exploring new hobbies. Kinsey is an animal lover and is happiest when playing with and cuddling her dog. She finds peace in nature and meaningful relationships, which continue to shape her values and inform her work as a therapist.

Education and Work Experience:

Kinsey earned her bachelor's degree in Social Work with a minor in Sociology and a Certificate in Law and Society Area Studies, followed by a Master of Social Work and a Certificate in Conflict Management and Facilitation from Utah State University. She is a Certified Social Worker (CSW) licensed to practice in therapy in Utah. Kinsey has experience in both public and private mental health settings, working with children, adolescents, and adults across a variety of concerns including PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, personality disorders, relationship conflicts, and major life transitions. She has served as a victim advocate for individuals who have experienced sexual assault and sexual harassment, offering trauma-informed support and crisis intervention. Kinsey has also provided neurofeedback therapy in inpatient settings and has extensive experience in crisis intervention including working on mobile crisis response teams. She is trained in EMDR and holds certifications in both children's and adult behavioral health case management.

Therapy Approach:

Her approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based care. She integrates modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients build emotional resilience, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with their inner strengths. Kinsey believes healing happens through the genuine connection and strives to create a safe, supportive space where each individual feels seen and heard, and has the opportunity to gain new perspectives and discover the resilience and complexity of the human experience.
