Background:
Laura was born and raised in Utah and feels blessed to call such a beautiful state her home. She has been married for a year and has loved the fun and growth that being married brings. She considers her siblings and parents to be some of her closest friends. In her free time, Laura loves singing, trying new foods, being outside, going for walks or hikes, game nights, sweet treat runs, quality time with friends and family, lifting weights, and laughing as much as she can.
Education and Work Experience:
Laura earned an undergraduate degree in Family Life from Brigham Young University, where she developed a strong foundation in family systems and applied research. During this time, she was actively involved in student leadership, including being a member and the president of the board for the School of Family Life Student Association (SFLSA). She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in marriage and Family Therapy at Utah Valley University. Laura loves learning and any further education she can get. She is passionate about continuing to expand her clinical skills and practice. Her experience includes working with individuals and couples in various stages of life, particularly in navigating self-compassion, self-confidence, anxiety, depression, relationship distress, emotional regulation, body image, and divorce/remarriage.
Therapy Approach:
Laura's approach to therapy is collaborative and client-centered. She believes that everyone has the innate ability to be who they want to be, and make the changes that are needed to get there. This work takes courage, compassion, and self-love. As your therapist, Laura is committed to being both a safe place to land and a steady support as you take off on your journey toward healing and growth.
She draws from an Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She strives to foster a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel seen and supported. Whether working through infidelity, managing symptoms of anxiety or depression, or building emotional resilience - her main focus is strengthening insight and relational connection in a way that is empowering. She is passionate about being part of the process where people find hopey, build stronger relationships, and grow into the version of themselves they want to be. Laura cares deeply about emotional connection and believes in the power of meaningful relationships to bring joy.
