Background:
Meilani is from Northern California and has lived in Utah since 2021. She has loved living so close to the mountains and took up snowboarding to fight winter blues. She enjoys local farmers markets in the summers and trying new recipes to share with her friends and family. Meilani is a dog lover and will pet any dog she crosses paths with!
Education and Work Experience:
Meilani earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from Brigham Young University where she developed an admiration of cultures and religions and the important part they play in individual's lives. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Utah Valley University. She has been providing clinical care to members of the Utah County community and is passionate about working with individuals and couples of varying populations particularly in navigating self compassion, anxiety, relationship distress, premarital counseling, and emotional regulation.

Meilani's therapeutic approach is emotionally focused and client centered. Her practice draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Couples Therapy, and Attachment Theory. She strives to foster an inclusive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel seen and supported by their therapist.
