I'm here to help your:
Individuals (ages 16-65)
Melissa Williams,
FNP-C
Background:
Melissa brings over 16 years of experience as a registered nurse, primarily in the fast-paced setting of the Emergency Department. It was there that she discovered a deep passion not only for critical care but also for supporting individuals in emotional and psychological crisis. Through these experiences, she developed a strong ability to connect with patients in distress, helping them feel safe, valued, and understood during some of their most vulnerable moments.
Melissa has witnessed firsthand the barriers to accessing mental health care in rural communities. Her mission is to reduce stigma, provide compassionate support, and expand mental health services to underserved populations.
Education and Work Experience:
Melissa earned her Master of Science in Nursing and became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in 2023. Motivated to specialize further in mental health care, she is currently completing her post-master's certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and is on track to graduate in December 2025.
Her clinical foundation in emergency medicine, combined with advanced training in psychiatric care, gives her a unique perspective on whole-person wellness - recognizing the connection between physical and mental health.
Therapy Approach:
Melissa's approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. She believes in meeting clients where they are and working alongside them to identify goals and develop individalized treatment plans. Through medication management, psychoeducation, and shared decision-making, she helps her clients better understand their mental health, reduce shame, and explore treatment options that support long-term well-being.
Above all, Melissa aims to create a nonjudgmental, affirming space where clients feel heard, encouraged, and empowered on their journey toward healing and personal growth.
