Background:
Michela is a proud Utah native born and raised in South Ogden. She met her husband while a freshman at BYU in a social dance class. Nine years later they are happily married and living in Bountiful enjoying all that Utah has to offer with their new son. Michela loves to cook and enjoys a new challenge in the kitchen. Beyond the kitchen, Michela loves to swim, boat, hike, camp, and support her favorite sports teams.
Education and Work Experience:
Michela graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in December 2021. After a year and a half in the emergency department at Davis Hospital and another two in surgical services at Primary Children's Hospital, Michela felt she needed a career change where she could more directly support her patients in their individual challenges. She is now working to complete a Doctorate of Nursing in Psychology and Mental Health at the University of Utah.
Therapy Approach:
Michela believes that the foundation of therapy is a strong therapeutic alliance between the client and therapist. She believes each individual is an expert regarding their life experience and needs. She seeks to empower individuals through her training which is heavily influenced by acceptance and commitment thereapy, humanistic existentialism, and cognitive behavior therapy. Michela strives to enable her clients to deepen their self-understanding and move toward their goals.
