Morgan Wood,
MFT Student
Background:
A Southern Utah native, Morgan grew up surrounded by close friends and family, which helped shape his belief in the importance of relationships, community, and personal growth.
Morgan has always had a deep love for people and service, which led him to serve both in his community and through his church. His desire to help others discover their potential inspired him to pursue a career in religious education, where he spent more than a decade mentoring youth and helping them develop essential spiritual and life skills.
As he worked with youth and families, Morgan recognized the increasing need for mental health support and felt called to expand his ability to help others. He believes meaningful change occurs when people feel understood, supported, and empowered to build on their strengths. Today, Morgan combines his experience in education, mentorship, and counseling to help individuals, couples, and families navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and create lasting growth.
Morgan is married to his best friend, together they have three incredible children. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors, seeking new adventures, and creating lasting memories together.
Education and Work Experience:
A dedicated leader, educator, counselor-in-training, and community advocate, Morgan has spent more than a decade helping people, organizations, and communities thrive through service, mentorship, and leadership. Morgan's experience includes military leadership development, clinical counseling training, educational administration, youth mentorship, community prevention initiatives, public policy advocacy, and small business ownership. Known for building strong relationships, leading diverse teams, and creating meaningful opportunities for growth, he has successfully managed large programs, coordinated community partnerships, and supported efforts that promote resilience, well-being, and positive change. Complementing this experience is a strong academic foundation that includes a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Psychology, a Master of Human and Family Development, completed doctoral-level coursework in Educational Leadership, and ongoing graduate studies in Divinity and Marriage and Family Therapy, reflecting a lifelong commitment to learning, leadership development, and helping others reach their full potential.
Therapy Approach:
Morgan is passionate about therapy because they have seen the life-changing impact that growth, healing, and meaningful support can have on individuals and families. They bring a blend of calm presence, positive energy, empathy, and a practical, forward-focused approach to every session. Whether clients need a steady source of support during difficult times or encouragement to take the next step toward their goals, Morgan strives to create a collaborative relationship built on trust, respect, and genuine care. They view therapy as a partnership, serving as both an advocate and teammate throughout the counseling process. Using practical, evidence-based, and results-oriented strategies, Morgan helps clients identify strengths, overcome challenges, and create meaningful change. Their focus is not simply on talking about the life clients want, but on helping them build it.
