Nate Heaps,
ACMHC
Background:
Nate loves Utah and has wanted to become a therapist since high school. His early life continues to shape the way he approaches his work today, with intention and genuine care. Outside of therapy, Nate enjoys photography, running, traveling when circumstances allow, and being present for the small, meaningful moments with family.
Education and Work Experience:
Nate earned his Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions and holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Utah Valley University. He has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, in a variety of clinical settings. Nate is committed to continuous learning and personal growth as a counselor, ensuring the care he provides remains thoughtful, evidence-informed, and responsive to each client's needs.
Therapy Approach:
Nate believes that authentic connection is at the heart of effective counseling. He strives to create a safe, steady, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being fully themselves. He understands that meaningful change often grows from relationships built on trust and emotional safety. He believes clients deserve a counselor who takes their concerns seriously, is attentive, and fully present. Drawing from his own experiences of growth through connection, Nate collaborates with clients to deepen self-understanding, strengthen resilience, and move towards their goals with peace and clarity.
