Paul Manwill,
CSW Student

Background:

I was born and raised in Boise, and eventually made my way back to Utah for school, where I met my wife and settled down with our two cats. I come from a background in software, but these days I'm much more focused on working with people. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, playing video games, watching movies and shows including anime, riding motorcycles, working out, reading, and whatever random passion I'm probably obsessed with at the time.

Education and Work Experience:

I completed my undergraduate studies in psychology and computer science and spent nearly a decade working in software before shifting toward work that felt more meaningful to me. I wanted to come back to working directly with people rather than machines. I am currently a second-year student in the Master of Social Work program at Utah Valley University, where I am continuing to build my clinical skills and experience.

Therapy Approach:

My approach to therapy is collaborative, down-to-earth, and centered on meeting you where you're at. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and a humanistic foundation, but my focus is on helping you feel understood and supported while we work through things together. I value curiosity, empathy, and some humor when it fits. I have experience working with anxiety, autism spectrum differences, LGBTQ+ experiences, faith transitions, and men's health, and I aim to provide care that feels both practical and real.
