Stormie Gee Norton,
Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern
Background:
I grew up in Nephi, Utah, as the youngest of four siblings, and sports were a huge part of my life. I played volleyball, basketball, and softball, and also loved dancing and tumbling. In high school, I was on the drill team and softball team, and later continued playing softball at Snow College, where I also met my husband. We’ve now been married for two years! Outside of counseling, I wear a lot of hats—I’m a nail tech, a mom, and a big fan of anything that gets me outside with my dog. I also love working out and winding down with a good episode of Friends.
Education and Work Experience:
After graduating from Juab High, I obtained my associate's degree from Snow College while majoring in Psychology. After Snow, I continued my education in Cedar City, Utah, at Southern Utah University. At SUU, I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. While in Cedar, I worked as a supervisor at an inpatient treatment center for young girls for two years. I cherished my relationships with each of the girls and loved seeing them progress. I was also a clinical intern at the facility, and had the opportunity to learn from the clinical team. I am currently working toward my Master's degree at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
Therapy Approach:
My approach to counseling is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and creating a safe, judgment-free space where clients feel truly heard. I believe that genuine connection is the foundation for growth, and I strive to meet each person with honesty and compassion. My goal is to walk alongside clients as they navigate challenges, helping them feel supported, empowered, and understood throughout their journey.
