MFT Intern

Background:

Taylor was born in Texas and spent much of her life in the small, tight-knit towns of North/Northeastern Arizona. No stranger to change, she's embraced new places and experiences with open arms. For the past five years, she's called Utah home, where she thrives on the endless opportunities for biking, running, and hiking. Taylor has a passion for doing hard things, loves playing sports, enjoys gardening, and finds joy in the simple everyday moments life brings.

Education and Work Experience:

Taylor earned a Bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University, double majoring in Family Studies and Spanish Studies. Taylor worked for U.S. Forest Service as both a Dispatcher and Wildland Firefighter, where she developed a deep respect for Mother Nature and the tireless work it takes to protect life and property. She is currenlty pursuing a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Utah Valley University, continuing her passion for helping others and strengthening relationships.

Therapy Approach:

Taylor is a firm believer that every individual has the capacity to grow, change, and create healthy relationships within themselves and with others. She views couples and families as the foundation of community and lasting connection. In her therapeutic work, she enjoys using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to facilitate client-led discussions and healing. Taylor deeply admires the courage it takes to come into therapy and honors each client's story with compassion and respect.
