Background:
I have lived in Cedar City for over 10 years and have a strong connection to the community and the unique experiences that come with living in Southern Utah. I chose this field because I value understanding people deeply and helping them access care that is effective and meaningful. I most enjoy building strong therapeutic relationships and supporting people as they develop perspectives and skills that improve both their quality of life and their relationships. It's important to me to be welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to people from diverse backgrounds. Outside of therapy, I value time with my family, continued learning and self-improvement, and staying active through trail running. I enjoy traveling, exploring different cultures, and trying food from new places. I speak Spanish as well!
Education and Work Experience:
My training has focused on supporting individuals through a wide range of life difficulties, including anxiety and anxiety-related disorders such as OCD, depression, trauma and PTSD-related challenges, ADHD, ASD, emotional regulation difficulties, and major life transitions. I am committed to ongoing training in evidence-based practices and providing care that is tailored to each individual's needs, values, and background. I also provide therapy services in Spanish.
I have experience working with adults including women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, college students, and more. I previously worked at FourPoints Health, providing services with the Paiute Tribe.
Therapy Approach:
I believe in you and your ability to change, adapt, and endure difficult things, even when it feels hard to see that strength in yourself. My goal is to help you identify what a meaningful life looks like to you and support you in working toward clear, values-based goals. I aim to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and respected.
Along with listening deeply, I focus on helping you build practical skills to navigate difficult thoughts and emotions and to make meaningful changes from week to week. Sessions are guided by clear goals while being flexible to what feels most important to you at each stage of therapy.
My work with you often involves identifying patterns of avoidance and learning how to approach discomfort in ways that lead to long-erm relief and greater fulfillment. I am comfortable sitting with uncertainty and distress and believe that learning to tolerate hard moments can create meaningful and lasting growth. Throughout this process, I will be alongside you, offering support while encouraging continued movement toward the life you want to live.
