Jason Lefrandt,
PhD Licensed Psychologist

Background:

Jason Lefrandt was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii as the middle child of five. He enjoys spending time with his wife and sons. They like going on hikes, playing sports, and traveling. He also enjoys working out at the gym, being outdoors, and reading psychology-related material.

Education and Work Experience:

Jason earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology, master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, and doctoral degree in counseling psychology from Brigham Young University.  He gained therapeutic and evaluative experience in a variety of settings, including medical centers, state and federal prison, outpatient clinics, assessment centers, and private practices. He has conducted multicultural research, including traveling to American Samoa and New Zealand.

Therapy Approach:

Jason utilizes a variety of empirically based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy and emotion focused therapy. He helps equip clients with a “toolbox,” or set of coping skills in times of high stress or problematic external situations. In addition, he recognizes empathy, understanding, and a safe space is vital for client growth.
